Well as much as 2020 was a dull year that we thought no theatre would happen in, a few venues and companies in the UK tried and succeeded in putting on some festive productions, even if they were to be cut short.
One such theatre was The Millfield in Edmonton. Producer, Director and Writer Marc Day approached us in the early summer with the hope of putting on a ‘Socially Distanced’ production. After a much discussion and many safety measures, the theatre produced ‘Puss In Boots’ a fun filled traditional family show. Featuring original songs and jokes.
With strict rules for all of the team to make sure that no one came into contact with the audience and visa versa. There was a small cast of 7 people and 4 ensemble.
Due to budget restrictions, we decided it would be better to donate the equipment this year to help give a big feel and help keep the standards that they were used to.
We used the in house ETC Ion desk to programme and run the show, timecoding some of the bigger numbers (With thanks to Jack Hathaway for jumping on board for a day to help).
The house team prerigged all of the equipment and set prior to the our arrival for hte ‘official’ first day of fit up, which helped to speed things along.
We supplied the following equipment:
4 of Ayrton – S Spots
6 of Clay Paky K20 Wash
2 of TLS 4 way 24V LED driver unit
1 of 63A TPNE Soca Distro
1 of Cable package
2 of DMX Buffer
We then utilised the in-house equipment of:
6 of Chauvet R2 Spot
2 of Martin Mac 250 Wash
4 of Generic LED moving wash light
4 of Chauvet Ovation B-1965FC Battens
1 of Look Solutions Unique Mk2.1 Hazer
Unfortunately after a weeks of tech we only got through 10 shows before London went into tier 4 and had to lock down again.
Well done to all of the crew, cast and creatives who pulled together through a very bizarre period. Lets hope that 2021 lets us all make theatre again.
